What I love about kids is their ability to stay honest and transparent no matter what the situation. Somewhere in the stages of growing up, adults learn to mask that honesty with a plethora of other emotions. One little girl here, who is the daughter of one of my coworkers, is just that. At 2 ½ years old, she is very shy and not afraid to hide it; but her curiosity for life sometimes gets the best of her.
Lydia is all girl but she loves to play in the mud with her little brother, loves hunting for rocks and running barefoot through red dust and water sprinklers. And although she is primarily Niamey based, I can imagine Lydia as equally as curious in a village setting as she would be in a city setting!
